Private pilot training is the first step on the career ladder for many professional pilots.
In at least 45 hours of flying and the associated theory lessons, you will be taught the necessary tools of a helicopter pilot. This entitles the pilot to carry out private, free flights. We carry out the pilot training in cooperation with Bodensee-Helicopter GmbH at the Friedrichshafen location.

The practical training to become a private pilot can be started at any time and lasts on average about 9 to 12 months alongside your job.

The practical training is divided as follows:

• Hovering exercises, climbing and descending, take-offs and landings
• Attitude flying, slope landings, navigation, off-road landings, etc.
• Emergency procedures, e.g. autorotations, warning lights, vortex ring state
• 10 hours of solo flights, including one solo navigation flight with 2 stopovers
• Exam preparation

The theoretical training is divided into the following subjects:

• Aviation law - national and international regulations
• Human performance - influence of the human body on flying
• Meteorology - interpretation of flight weather and its forecasts
• Navigation - Basics of navigation in the air
Radiotelephony - Mastering standardized radio conversations
• Aircraft knowledge - basics of engine, transmission
• Flight performance and planning - calculation of route, fuel quantity, center of gravity, etc.
• Operating procedures - The specialties of helicopter flying
• Aerodynamics - Physical principles of lift, rotor blades, etc.

Requirements for the PPL-H:
• Enthusiasm for helicopter flying
• 16 years at the start of the training
• 17 years to obtain the license
• Certificate of good conduct
• Class 2 flight medical examination
• Extract from the Central Traffic Register/Reliability Check
• radio license
• First Aid Certificate
